Make your first video

In this lesson, you will make a complete video with Video Agent. It takes about five minutes, and most of that is waiting while the video renders.

Step 1: Open Video Agent

Video Agent is your Home page. Open Home, and you will see the heading "Turn your ideas into videos in minutes" with a prompt box at the top.

The prompt box sits at the top. Example video ideas are below it.

Not sure what to make? Click Prompt Idea to fill the box with a sample prompt.

Step 2: Describe your video

Type your idea in the prompt box. A good prompt says what the video is about, who it is for, and how it should feel. For example:

"Make a 30-second explainer for beginners on how to brew pour-over coffee at home. Friendly, upbeat tone. Show the three key steps: grind, bloom, and slow pour."

The next lesson, Write prompts that get great results, has more examples.

Step 3: Choose your presenter and voice

The prompt box shows one presenter card. Click Choose Avatar to pick the avatar and the voice together. To learn how to make your own, see Avatars and Voices.

Step 4: Set your options

Click the options button next to the + button. The panel lets you set the avatar, the script, the video length, the orientation, captions, your brand system, extra instructions, and attachments.

In the options panel, under Basics, you can turn on Seedance for cinematic AI-generated footage.

To choose a length, click the clock button. You can pick Auto or a length from 15 seconds to 3 minutes. Some lengths need a paid plan.

Click Continue to go back to the prompt box. Your choices are added to your prompt.

Step 5: Choose a mode and submit

Click the mode button next to the submit arrow and pick one:

  • Plan asks a few quick questions first, then builds your video. New accounts start in Plan by default. Choose this when you want more control.
  • Auto-pilot builds the video right away.
